I’m Katie - a multidisciplinary artist, living and working in Perth, Western Australia.
My artwork is largely inspired by our beautiful WA Coastline - I love capturing the texture of sand, the movement of water, and frothy shorelines.
I specialise in soft pastels (my favourite medium to work with), however I also love to create with mixed media in my art journals. I experiment with acrylic paint, mica powders, gesso and alcohol inks - just to name a few!
I often take my camera with me on weekend travel adventures. I find that after visiting places, I head back to my studio to explore and study the photos I have taken - looking for representational and abstract patterns that I can create from. I love to study colour and the connection between light and shadow. I aim to create artwork that people can connect with.
